I love the sky, watch it a lot. I stopped when driving and pulled over for this phenomenon, I have no idea what created it but I have never before seen up through such a mid level cloud opening to high cirrus clouds.
This is incredible! Thanks for sharing such an awesome shot, lucky for you it worked out to be during the week of the "lock" assignment, although I'm sure you would have worked it into whatever the assignment would have been, it's too awesome!
